Discovering Paris - capital within and without in 2 and a half days -- the inspectors --

Visited Places

I wanted to give you a little sneak peak into the places I visited in Paris. They were all beautiful on its own and perfect together.

Day 1. Friday

LOUVRE

Where: Metro Station Musée du Louvre
Prices:My boyfriend and me are under 26 therefore we dind´t have to pay anything. Normal prices where around 13 euros.

My experience: The first day we decided to visit the musée du Louvre. Its a huge museum with loads of exhebitions. There is the egyptian, the greek, the napoelon era, and of course the Mona Lisa. We didnt wait to long because it was a friday and there werent many tourists there yet.  The different exhebitions are nice but it was just too much for me to see. The Mona Lisa was decently crowd enfolded and we could see it easily. My favourite part was definetly the pictures behind the Mona Lisa. It was a young lady swimming in a lake by moonshine and a shadow in the background, The colours where just amazing and it atomized a special mood in the room. The Louvre is defiently a must see but my followers agreed that it is a one time experience.

JARDIN DE TUILIERES

Where: Metro Station Tuileries. Right behind the Louvre, if you leave it trough the little mall you can see a long park.

My experience: The Jardin de Tuileries is cascading forward until you reach the Place de la Concorde. 6 little ponds are placed inside the park and divide the walkthrough into two sides. There are several ways out. From the front, the back and the sides. The park is green ,with loads of trees, little restaurants and even two museums at the back.

One of them was our next desitnation. Sadly the musée de l´Orangerie closed a few minutes before we arrived (whichwas really annoying but life happens).

But If you´re in Paris you should have enough places to visit instead. So we said, ok lets see the tour d´Eiffel by night.

TOUR D`EIFFEL

Where: Metro Station Champ de Mars/Tour Eiffel

My experience: The Eiffel tower is really pretty by night. Its enlighted and every full hour it makes a little sparkle lightshow. The area around the Eiffel tower consits of parks and little lakes . It welcomes you to sit and enjoy the view. We saw an area to buy tickets to see it from the top and a restaurant or bar on the lowest deparment.

Day 2. Saturday

LES CATACOMBES DE PARIS

Where: Metro Station Denfert Rochereau

Prices: Again my boyfriend payed nothing. I paid 8 Euros and I think the full price was 15 Euros. (Without guided tour or audio guide)

My experience; On Saturday we knew that tourist attractions would be fuller and we had to wait longer in the queue. But lucky my said "lets wake up early to be first there" . Yeah, that didnt really work out. After waking up too late we went to see the catacombes de Paris. The line was already long and we had to wait about 45min to get in.Somehow it didnt bother me at all. I ate a little bit,we took photos of pigeons huggin (I have got proove for that and talked and then we went in. If youre finally in its really dark, narrow and mysterius. After arriving at the exit, which is around the corner of the entrance we ,moved on. The catacombes were really different to what I have seen before in other cities. They are not for everybody, especialley If you are afraid if narrow rooms. But for others the history behind the engravements and the tunnels in general can be really interesting. You can also buy a tour guide to tell you the background information you want.

MONTMARTRE et SACRE COEUR

Where: Metro Sations Lamarck , Chateau Rouge

Prices: We dindt had to pay to get inside the church. There is some other action happening around the corner but therefore you would have to pay so we dindt go there.

My experience: My favourite place of the little trip was Montmartre. Its the artist neighbourhood. It is what I expected a typical french city to be. It has high, narrow buildings, big windows, long streets, nice parks and cafés everywhere. We visited the Sacre Coeur, walked through a nice park and had a great view over the city. The Sacre Coeur is stunninlgy beautiful from both the inside and outside.
Definetly worth climing up the many stairs. After the church we sat down and drank a really nice cup of coffee in a little restaurant called l´Eté en Pente Douce (I mentioned it in the foodie post).

After the little break we explored the lower part of the neighbourhood and saw a lot of nice looking bakeries and restaurants. Therefore we decided to eat diner there later.

MUSÈE DE L`ORANGERIE

Where; Metro Station Concorde

Prices: for under 26 free, others 9 Euros

My experience: My favourite museum. It is small, beautiful art and a really cool photograph exhebition at the moment. Of courste the waterlily pont where the most beautiful prictures. The whole rooms is light and seems light. The pictures are really beautiful and interesting to see from far away and from close. I bought a little (expensive) notebook in the shop with the waterlily pont on them. It looks beautiful . The shop has a great varietey of books, stationary supplies, postcards etc.of the waterlily paitings and other impressionisitc artists.

The next hours in Paris had been mainly eating sleeping and eating again. Those two restaurants/cafés are both part of the foodie part of the paris blog.

You see Paris is multifaceted, its worth exploring next to the main sights.
Experience it yourself.

I wish you all  a nice day and wish just the best to one of the most beautiful cities I have seen so far. I hope you rise from the knockdown.

Until next time,

See you
